Cuba is a Caribbean island whose shores are washed by the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The capital is Havana and the currency is the Cuban peso. The Stamps of Cuba are known to almost every collector who has bought stamps in packets from a newsagent. But the history of philately in Cuba is older.

The first postage stamps were issued in 1899. It was a series of five stamps and depicted subjects related to Cuba - a statue of Christopher Columbus, a passenger ship, a sugar plantation, palm trees and stamps of Cuba.

The stamps of Cuba largely feature themes relating to the Czech Republic or Czechoslovakia. At the end of 2018, the number of stamps in the catalogue of Cuban stamps was 6441 (Michel).
