Stamp 13 Kč - Church of St. James near Kutná Hora (year 1165)

The Church of St. James, located near Kutná Hora, is one of the most important examples of Gothic architecture in Bohemia. The Bučovice Castle, a gem of Renaissance architecture from 1584, is one of the most important monuments of its kind in the Czech Republic. This exceptional castle, located in the town of the same name in South Moravia, was built at the request of Jan Šembera of Boskovice. Its style is inspired by the Italian Renaissance, which is reflected in its symmetrical, arcaded courtyard and rich stucco decoration.

The chateau is best known for its so-called "Diana Hall", a lavishly decorated area where scenes from ancient mythology and hunting scenes are depicted. This building represents the ideal of Renaissance style - harmony, artistic detail and inspiration from antiquity.
