Design: 3 Kčs - Triton with Nymph - Heritage V. Tilinger (1844-1899)

The Triton with Nymph is one of the most beautiful sculptural works in Bratislava, which comes from the workshop of the important sculptor Viktor Tilinger. This Czech artist, active in the second half of the 19th century, left an indelible mark in the field of figurative sculpture.

The sculpture depicts the mythical figures of Triton, god of the seas, and the elegant Nymph, a symbol of natural beauty and harmony. The work is characterized by its fine details, dynamic movement and masterful rendering of the human anatomy. The combination of realism and romantic idealism makes this work a unique jewel of Bratislava's public space.

Tilinger's works, including this sculpture, not only decorate but also inspire. Triton with Nymph is a symbol of the connection between nature and mythology, and a reference to the rich cultural history of the city. The statue continues to attract the attention of locals and tourists alike, who admire not only the beauty of the work but also its historical significance.

Design: 4 Kčs - Mirbach Palace in Bratislava

Mirbach Palace, located in the historical centre of Bratislava on Franciscan Square, is one of the most important Baroque architectural gems of the city. It was built in 1768-1770 on the site of an older house and bears the name of its last owner, Count Emil Mirbach, who bequeathed it to the city.

This sumptuous building impresses with its elegant façade with rococo details that attract the eyes of visitors and art lovers alike. The interior preserves rich decoration, including original frescoed ceilings and decorative stuccoes that perfectly illustrate the artistic trends of the time.

Today, Mirbach Palace is home to the Bratislava City Gallery, which holds art exhibitions focusing on Baroque and Rococo works. A visit to the palace thus offers the opportunity to combine admiring architecture with exploring works of art, all against the backdrop of Bratislava's rich history.
