This booklet commemorates a historic moment in Czechoslovak cosmonautics - the joint flight of cosmonauts Vladimir Remko (Czechoslovakia) and Alexey Gubarev (USSR) aboard Soyuz 28, recorded as part of the Interkosmos programme. This 1978 flight represented the first international mission of its kind and symbolized the cooperation of the socialist countries in the conquest of space.
A stamp issued in 1983 to commemorate the 5th anniversary of this momentous achievement shows the Soyuz spacecraft, portraits of the two cosmonauts and motifs referring to the cooperation between the two countries. It is not only a valuable collector's item, but also a testament to the times and political context of the 20th century.
