Guereza guereza (Colobus guereza): the elegant acrobat of the African rainforest

The mantled guereza is a magnificent primate native to Africa's tropical forests and savannahs. Its distinctive black and white coat and long bushy tail make it one of the most beautiful monkeys in the world. Guerezas are excellent jumpers, able to cover distances of up to 15 metres between trees. They feed mainly on leaves, which they process efficiently thanks to their unique digestive system. These social monkeys live in small groups where they cooperate and protect each other. The guereza mantle monkey symbolizes the beauty and diversity of African fauna.
